I started liking black and white photography quite late. For a long time I mostly cared about color portra 400 and overexposing, but then I tried a Ricoh R1s with flash and Rollei Infrared 400 film.
That look really got me. The contrast, the grain and the flash give the photos a feeling I like a lot. Portraits especially look very calm and natural to me.
Now I shoot black and white much more often. I use a Ricoh GR1V now, and most of the time I probably have black and white film in it instead of color.
