I got into car photography because a friend of mine had a GTI and took me to a lot of car meets. That was probably the first time I really started using the photo “skills” I learned at university. Not really skills, but at least I had a camera and wanted to try things.
Without that time and all those car meets, I probably would not have photographed nearly as much. At some point it just clicked for me. I went to Wörthersee, took a lot of car photos and even got the chance to shoot for Mercedes through EyeEm. I was pretty proud of that for a while and probably talked about it a bit too much.
Now I am mostly just grateful for the experience. It gave me a reason to go out, shoot a lot and learn by doing. Funny enough, these days there is probably nothing I photograph less often than cars.
