Film Photography

Photo project15 photos
I started getting interested in film photography through grainydays. I liked the sarcasm, the relaxed feeling and of course the photos. At some point I thought: I can probably do that too. Of course i could not. Jason really knows what he is doing.
Still, his videos made film feel fun, imperfect and a bit magical, so I eventually bought my first Canon AE-1 Program. That camera sadly broke on a trip to Morocco, and I could not save a single photo from it. Not the best start, but I still kept going.
In the beginning I shot the classic stuff like Portra 400 and Cinestill 800T. I still like them, but over time I moved more and more towards black and white. These days I am really stuck on Rollei Infrared 400. Portra is in my camera much less often now, and when I shoot color it is usually Kodak Gold 200.
What I really love about film is the waiting. Sometimes I already forgot some of the moments I photographed, and when the scans come back I get to remember them again. And sometimes there is one photo in between that I really like, which makes the whole thing worth it.
